Living were designing lighting control before smart homes were a phrase. We were the original Clipsal CBUS lighting company from 2005 and today we design and install Lutron Homeworks, Rako and Orluna LED schemes across the UK.
From a single dimmed circuit to a whole-home scheme with shades and daylight tracking, we handle design, installation, programming and aftercare, working alongside your architect and interior designer.
Our lighting projects run from Sandbanks beach houses to listed London townhouses, and the deliverables are the same: a proper lighting design drawing, circuits and keypads that make sense, and scenes programmed around how you actually live. We also partner with specialist lighting designers, including John Cullen, when a project calls for it.

Asked before you had to.
What is the difference between Lutron and Rako?
Lutron Homeworks is the benchmark wired system, designed in from the start of a build for total control and reliability. Rako excels in retrofit, adding scene control to existing wiring with minimal disruption. We design and install both, and often specify each where it belongs within the same project.
Can lighting control be retrofitted without redecorating?
Usually, yes. Wireless Rako modules replace or sit behind existing switches, so most rooms gain scene control without chasing walls. A full wired scheme is more invasive and is best planned alongside other building work.
Do you work with architects and interior designers?
Constantly, and happily. We produce lighting design drawings, attend design team meetings and deliver RIBA CPD sessions from our Poole showroom. The best schemes happen when lighting is designed with the architecture, not after it.
Is smart lighting control worth it?
It is the upgrade clients tell us they would never give up. Scenes replace banks of switches, the house looks dramatically better at night, and dimming extends lamp life and saves energy. It also integrates with blinds and security for a lived-in look when you are away.
